mirages: not one too many

Oh emperor, my wishes are simple. I only wish for this. Give me one grain of wheat for the first square of the chessboard, two grains for the next square, four for the next, eight for the next and so on for all 64 squares, with each square having double the number of grains as the square before.

Hu, emperador del mar del norte, y Shu, emperador del mar del sur, acostumbraban encontrarse a mitad de camino entre sus respectivos dominios. Esta región pertenecía a Hum-Tun, emperador de la región del Centro. Hum-Tun era muy amable y hospitalario, pero carecía de los siete orificios primordiales para ver, oír, comer y respirar. Como agradecimiento a tanta hospitalidad, Hu y Shu decidieron crearle los orificios a razón de uno por día. Al séptimo día Hum-Tun murió.
